I like to joke that Ty slid into my DMs because he is not the type of guy to do that, but this is exactly where our love story starts. I think it's fate that we were in the same bio lab together during our freshman year of undergrad at UB, because I was very close to switching lab times with a friend who had a conflict. However, things happen for a reason and soon we were making small talk about being born and raised in Buffalo. Ty always says my hair caught his attention, and it must have been true because on a random Thursday at the end of October I completed a long night of studying and opened Instagram to the message you can see in the timeline below. Ty tells me he was worried I wasn't going to answer because he was long asleep when I responded at 2:30 am. Even though Ty likes to remind me that I admitted I thought he was a little nerdy after the first date, I think I knew that Ty was the one even then.
When choosing a wedding date, I knew we'd be confined to May or June as I transition between med school and residency. It again felt like a sign from God when I was going through a drawer and I found letters we had written to each other on May 22nd, 2020 while spending a day hiking at a local park. I knew this had to be our wedding date at that moment. We can't wait to #tytheknot (get it😁) with you all on this special date, 6 years later!
